Vyšetřovatelé začínají pátrat po Zivě, která se jim z jedné ze svých misí už dlouho neozvala. Domnívají se, že zřejmě zůstala v Izraeli. Abby se podaří nabourat do systému Mossadu a zjistit, že její ředitel vyslal do severní Afriky, kde by měl být teroristický tábor vedený Saleemem Ulmanem, svůj tým na palubě nákladní lodi. Loď podle všeho nikdy do přístavu nedoplula, postihla ji bouře a nikdo se nezachránil. Gibbs se domnívá, že je Ziva mrtvá. Týmu se podaří lokalizovat Saleema a Gibbs na naléhání Tonyho navrhne vyslat do oblasti agenty NCIS, aby zmapovali situaci. Tony a McGee se přihlásí na misi jako dobrovolníci. Uprostřed pouště se nechají zatknout. Saleem je pak mučí a podává jim sérum, které je má přinutit mluvit. Nakonec přivádí živou Zivu a dává jim ultimátum. Chce znát jména a polohu všech agentů NCIS operujících v dané oblasti. Kdo promluví, bude žít, ostatní zemřou.(TV Nova)
