Na ulici ve Washingtonu je z jedoucího auta zastřelen agent NCIS Jack Patterson. Těsně před svou smrtí hodil do poštovní schránky balíček. Druhý den je doručen Abby, která s ním celá léta úzce spolupracovala. V zásilce je obraz známé malířky z Arizony. Abby při podrobném zkoumání zjistí, že použitá barva vykazuje známky radioaktivity, což bylo způsobeno přidáváním přírodních materiálů do barev... Jelikož má Gibbs podezření, že za Jackovou smrtí je práce nájemného vraha, dá se očekávat, že násilník půjde i po malířce Dině. Proto se spolu s Tonym a šerifem Boydem vydává do hor za ní.(TV Nova)
