Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction is an American television anthology series created by Lynn Lehmann, presented by Dick Clark Productions, and produced and aired by the Fox network from 1997 to 2002. Each episode featured five stories, all of which appeared to defy logic, and some of which were allegedly based on actual events. The viewer was offered the challenge of determining which are true and which are false. At the end of the show, it was revealed to the viewer whether the tales were true or works of fiction. The series was hosted by James Brolin in season one and later by Jonathan Frakes for the remainder of the series. The show was narrated by Don LaFontaine for the first three seasons and by Campbell Lane for the fourth and final season.

První příběh vypráví o muži, který potkal svou pravou lásku. Ovšem několikrát. Dále se seznamujeme s úspěšným mužem, který je náhle zatčen. Jak se ukáže, došlo k omylu, ale to ještě není zdaleka vše. Omylem se rozhodně nedá nazvat jízda mladíka s řidičem kamionu. Ale není to jen tak ledajaký šofér, mladému muži doslova změní život. Život se málem změní i po nevinném incidentu s grilem, ze kterého z neznámých důvodů začnou šlehat plameny. A jak souvisí obraz s majákem se stěhováním?

Prohnanému literárnímu agentovi se daří, ale především kvůli podvodům. Peníze se sypou, knihy se ale netisknou. Do krypty se vydává parta mladých lidí, kteří zde chtějí zažít dobrodružství. Ze zábavy se ale brzy stane horor. Tajemno provází také další příběh, ve kterém učitelka cítí neobvyklé propojení se svou žákyní. Klíčem k záhadě je jedna stará panenka. A zmínili jsme klíč, tento klíč ale patří do sady nářadí. Co může být na pár potřebách pro kutily zvláštního? A lze přijít na nádor i jinak?
